The documents required for a Poland visa application are as follows:

  • Application form filled out via the e-konsulat system (printed and signed)

  • Recent passport-sized photographs that must follow Poland visa photos guidelines:

    • Photo size must be 35*45mm with head and shoulders occupying around 70% of space in the photo
    • Photo with a plain gray color with no designs, patterns, or bright colors
    • Photo of high resolution and clear face with no blurriness, contrast, or red eyes and without accessories (such as sunglasses, hats, or bandanas)
  • A valid passport valid for at least three months after the return date, with at least two blank pages

  • Photocopy of your national ID card

  • Healthcare insurance that is valid across the EU, with a minimum coverage of EUR 30,000

  • Proof of accommodation (such as a rental house, dorm, or student apartment), with full contact details

  • Proof of sufficient financial means covering costs of living, cost of accommodation, and the cost of return travel to the country of origin

  • An acceptance letter provided by the Polish university stating your name, type of study, and the length of your studies

  • A scholarship document (if applicable)

  • Proof of relationship status if you are married

  • Language Proficiency Certificate

  • A receipt of the paid visa fee

  • Any other documents according to the university requirements

     

How to make an appointment?

First, book an appointment through the e-Konsulat website of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and complete the application form. Collect the documents required for your visa application.

Once documents are collected, submit the application in person on the date of your appointment to the Polish consulate or embassy. Attend the visa interview and wait for the decision. The embassy will inform you in approximately 15 days.

What is the processing time for a Polish student Visa?

A visa application is processed within 15 business days after the payment of the application fee. If further examination of the documents is required, the processing time may be extended up to 45 days.

Is it possible to work in Poland using a student visa?

Yes. It is possible to work part-time for up to 20 hours a week while studying, and full-time during breaks. However, it is important to prioritize your academic performance and not let work interfere with your studies.

Failing to pass exams or complete your studies on time could have negative consequences on your visa renewal.

Can I bring my family?

If you are planning to study in Poland and want to bring your family along, they can apply for a residence permit as accompanying family members. To do so, you need to provide evidence of your stable and regular income to show that you can support your family during their stay.

Additionally, your family members are allowed to work and study in Poland with your Poland student visa, but only if you also have a temporary residence permit.

Can I extend my Poland student visa?

If you are studying in Poland and your Poland student visa is about to expire, you can extend it for the full duration of your educational program. To do so, you must apply for a temporary residence permit.

However, please note that you cannot extend the temporary residence permit beyond its expiration date. In such a case, you will have to return to your home country and reapply for the visa.
