If you intend to study in Germany, you need to first obtain a Germany student visa. This is a special kind of permit that allows international students to live and study in Germany for a certain period.

There are three types of Germany student visas:

Documents Checklist for German Student Visa

If you’re planning to study in Germany, there are certain documents that you need to prepare to apply for a Germany student visa. Here’s a list of the requirements:

  • Visa application form

  • National passport

  • Two photocopies of the passport

  • Birth certificate

  • Marriage and child birth certificate (if applicable)

  • Three recent passport-size photographs

  • Evidence of your or your parent’s income (bank statement of last 6 months)

  • Certificate showing that all your expenses will be covered by an organization (in case of scholarship)

  • Deposit confirmation of €11,208 in a “German Blocked Bank Account”

  • Receipt of processing visa fee

  • Acceptance letter from a German university

  • School leaving certificate (if applying for an undergraduate program)

  • A degree certificate (if applying for a master’s/PhD study visa)

  • Proof of German or English language proficiency (depending on the type of course selected)

  • Health insurance (public €120/private €300)

 

Note:

You must submit all original documents including your passport. The embassy will retain your passport during visa processing, but all other original documents will be returned on the same day.

Germany Student Visa Application Process

Once all the required documents have been collected, the candidate must schedule an appointment with the German embassy or consulate in Pakistan. During the appointment, the candidate will need to submit the completed application form, pay the appropriate fees, and attend an interview. Pakistani candidates can arrange their appointment either in Islamabad or at the consulate office located in Karachi.

Note:

If you need to get an attestation, visa, or passport application done at the German Embassy, you can only make an appointment online. Unfortunately, requests made via phone or email are not accepted.
